Roles & Responsibilities

UWCSEA East are looking for Relief Teachers to provide cover for colleagues who are absent on medical or other leave.

Please note that to apply for this role, you must have an internationally recognised qualification and reside in Singapore. You must also be available whenever needed

Main Responsibilities
  • To teach classes as required with some planning if it is an advanced cover.
  • To exhibit strong classroom management skills.
  • To provide feedback on student progress if appropriate.
  • There may be opportunities to take on supervisory duties (students’ activities).
Expectations and Standards
  • Follow the UWCSEA Professional Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Code of Conduct.
  • Teach in line with the UWCSEA Teacher Standards
Person Specifications
  • A good degree and recognized teaching qualification are essential.
  • Experience in teaching students in a school context is essential.
  • Experience in an international school context is an advantage.
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential alongside a willingness to adapt and develop pedagogy to meet the needs of our learners.
  • Flexibility, positivity and the ability to build rapport with students is important.
