Roles & Responsibilities

XCL World Academy has vacancies for Secondary Years EAL –FEP Teacher. This is a full-time contract position starting from 1 August 2025.


Preference will be given to teachers who have credentials in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, and with SIOP, WIDA, and TPR experience, as well as teachers with a clear track record of superior teaching in international school settings.


Main Responsibilities

  • Teachers should be willing to contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Foundational English Program (FEP) department and broader SY Team.
  • Demonstrates professional ethics, international mindedness and the school’s mission.
  • Adheres cooperatively to XCL policies and regulations, including duties, deadlines, programme requirements.
  • Seeks clarification in case of lack of clarity in order to fully meet all expectations of the role and sets and maintains consistently high standards.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment documentation.
  • Show exemplary attendance to work eg. recognises the importance and provides support for XCL extended school day activities.

Person Specifications

  • Undergraduate degree from a recognised university or college.
  • Teacher professional certification specific to Applied Linguistics, TESOL and EAL.
  • Teaching experience and professional certification specific to applied position.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a class teacher, preferably in an international K-12 school.
  • Preferred minimum 2 years of relevant IB programme experience.
  • Possess skills and attitudes aligned to the purpose, mission and vision of XCL World Academy
  • Preference will be given to multilingual candidates.
  • Need clear eagerness, resilience and understanding to engage and collaborate in the development of a highly aspirational school.
  • Have demonstrated commitment and education and learning beyond the classroom.
  • Be flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
  • Salary commensurate with experience (International School) and according to the School's teaching scale.
  • This is a full time 2 year contract position , renewal will be offered based on performances and class allocations.
