The Asian School of the Environment (ASE) and EarthObservatory of Singapore (EOS) at Nanyang Technological University(NTU) Singapore are seeking an accomplished and visionary scientistto join us as a Full Professor in Earth and Environmental Sciences.This is an open call, covering a wide range of topics includinggeohazards, disaster risk, cascading hazards, ecology, andenvironmental change.

ASE (https://www.ntu.edu.sg/ase) is aninterdisciplinary school at NTU that integrates Earth andenvironmental life science, ecology, engineering and technology,human ecology, humanities, and the social sciences to address keyissues of the environment and sustainability.

EOS (https://earthobservatory.sg/) is aresearch centre at NTU with a mission to conduct fundamentalresearch on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and climatechange in and around Southeast Asia, towards safer and moresustainable societies.

ASE and EOS hoststate-of-the-art analytical facilities(https://www.ntu.edu.sg/ase/lab-facilities). EOS also supports aregional network of geophysical and geochemical observationstations in collaboration with neighbouring countries in SoutheastAsia, that are supported by the EOS Centre for GeohazardObservations, as well as a Remote Sensing Lab (EOS-RS).Computational resources are available through a dedicated clusterand collaboration with the High-Performance Computing Centre ofNTU.

Applicants should have a record ofaccomplishment of world-class, innovative science and the abilityto obtain and manage large research grants. They should have provencommitment to excellence in research, teaching, academicleadership, and the mentorship of students and faculty. They willbe expected to build up, manage, and lead a pioneering researchgroup, develop new collaborations with international teams, teachwithin ASE, and contribute effectively to our ambitions to supplySingapore and other countries in the region the knowledge needed tobuild societies that are resilient to geohazards. Singapore isideally located in Southeast Asia and close to many excitinggeological sites for doing innovative research with regionalcollaborators.

Applicants must have a PhD ingeoscience, ecology, or a related field and would normally alreadyhold a tenured Professorial position in a university (or equivalentinstitution).

This position is part of acluster hire at ASE and EOS. We are also advertising for twoAssistant Professors in Geohazards and one Assistant Professor inEnvironment and Society.
