The Senior Director, GCIO Office is a member of the Group IT leadership team, accountable for coordinating efforts across Group IT to facilitate execution of Group IT strategy. As a strategist, consultant, and leader, the role will ensure streamlined activities within Group IT and more broadly across the enterprise, often representing Group IT in organisation-wide activities. 

 

The Senior Director is engaged in significant activities within the Business Unit, including creation of the annual operating plan; facilitating communication between the Group CIO and other executives including preparation of board papers and other internal and external presentation material; leading special projects assigned by the Group CIO; and partnering with other leaders to deliver on the BU and Group strategy.  The Senior Director is also a trusted advisor and sounding board for the Group CIO, providing counsel on key business decisions and initiatives based on numeracy skills and detailed understanding of commercial concepts and processes.

 

The ideal candidate will have proven success in a business management role, with a special focus on executive-level advising and collaboration across multinational organisations.

 

Make an Impact by:

  • Work closely with the GCIO to develop and implement the organisation’s strategic plan.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and partners to advance Group and organisational goals and objectives.
  • Manage communication and information flow between the GCIO and members of the SLT and broader organisation.
  • Facilitate creation of the BU’s Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
  • Oversee strategic business planning in alignment to AOP.
  • Plan and organise the cadence for the Group CIO sessions with the OpsCos and associates to review progress against strategy and commitments.
  • Partner with stakeholders to refine plans through productive business targeting through intelligence and insights from management reporting and analysis.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned by the Group CIO.
  • Synthetise and refine Group-strategies for Management Committee or board presentations/papers.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Group CIO, providing guidance and support for key business decisions.
  • Work closely with the P&C Business Partner to organise staff communications and events, to impart Group strategy and plans across business units and hubs, talent reviews, CEO excellence awards, etc.
  • Take the lead on all Group CIO internal and external presentation materials, including any FAQ for media, and investor and analyst presentations.

 

Skills for Success

  • Completion of a degree in business or finance
  • A minimum of 15+ years of work experience in a relevant field, involving senior management, financial analysis and modelling
  • Proficiency in creating presentations and board papers for senior executives.
  • Expertise in overseeing large-scale business and operating model transformations.
  • Proven ability to deliver complex and aspirational programs
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strategic planning, strategic conceptual thinking, and execution skills
  • PMP Project management knowledge, experience and/or certification preferred
  • Understanding of Telco IT to forward agenda with CIOs of OpCos and associates
  • Exhibits leadership in guiding team members.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to guide business stakeholders
