About the Role

The Regional Reporting Analyst is a key member of the Life & Health (L&H) Re Reporting & Controlling (R&C) Asia team, which is part of the Global R&C team. You will work closely with finance teams to ensure we effectively deliver insightful management reporting of IFRS-17 results for the Asia region. You will be a point of contact for L&H Re business matters for senior management and will work closely with Valuation & Analysis, FP&A and other teams.

Your core responsibilities include:
  • Provide financial insights through the quarterly results presentations for our Group valuation, IFRS-17, and facilitate the review sessions with management and the L&H Business Unit CFO
  • Prepare the IFRS-17 forecast for L&H Re R&C Asia, ensuring that material updates are gathered from various teams and drive business performance with timely guidance
  • Work with the extended team in Bangalore to deliver on the above including working with multiple reporting & analysis tools, data and other collaborative documentation to substantiate the storyline
  • Ensure a robust control environment for our financial reporting
  • Focus on operational excellence, by critically assessing the recurring reporting processes and outputs and propose areas for improvement
  • Build a strong global network and enhance collaboration between regional finance teams in the Americas and EMEA


About the Team

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the L&H Re Reporting and Controlling Asia team Our core aim is to provide transparency on financial results to all relevant partners. We collaborate actively across finance teams and cross-functional teams to achieve this goal. We consolidate market-level information into regional and global themes and provide timely updates on potential earnings volatility and risks. We use technology to make our information as accessible as possible across the organization.

About You

  • University degree (Accounting, Finance, Actuarial or Business preferred) and/or relevant professional qualifications in the field of Accounting, Finance or Actuarial
  • An understanding of L&H (Re)insurance business and its key drivers of financial performance
  • At least five years of relevant work experience, ideally in a finance role, experience of Life re/insurance is an advantage
  • Reporting under multiple accounting frameworks including IFRS and IFRS-17
  • Strong interpersonal skills, in both written and verbal form; able to explain complex issues in a clear and concise fashion and to develop effective working relationships with a broad range of partners
  • Demonstrated experience of working in, or with, teams spread across multiple countries would be advantageous
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Knowledge of Power BI or other data management approaches is an advantage
  • Operationally, strong analytical skills to support the explanation of business performance drivers, constructively challenging key movements, resolve complex / unusual / ad hoc queries and contributes to projects or lead smaller projects
