Join to apply for the Senior Engineer, Compute Services role at Singtel Role Overview Design, engineer, and operate Singtel’s on‑premises private cloud platform, focusing primarily on Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization and Containerization, with secondary expertise in VMware. Own end‑to‑end virtualization and compute services, collaborate closely with third‑party operations vendors, and drive process, productivity, and quality improvements through disciplined change management. Responsibilities Architect, implement, and maintain virtualization infrastructure in on‑premises datacenters, including OpenShift, VMware, Nutanix, and Hyper‑V. Serve as a Level 3 subject‑matter expert, providing advanced support for OpenShift, VMware, Nutanix, Hyper‑V, and compute infrastructure. Troubleshoot cross‑platform Linux and Windows systems, engage principal vendors for issue resolution, and implement automation and monitoring enhancements. Lead capacity planning, cost optimization, and licensing management to deliver cost‑effective, high‑availability solutions. Automate infrastructure maintenance through scripting, enhance monitoring, and ensure continuous uptime. Participate in Azure‑cloud related OS issue resolution where applicable. Collaborate with change management to propose and implement patching, migrations, and new builds. Document enterprise infrastructure strategies, standards, and security compliance. Provide guidance to management and stakeholders on compute infrastructure design, build, and operations policies. Assist in ongoing automation of infrastructure operations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 5–10 years of experience designing, securing, and operating enterprise compute and storage infrastructure. Strong hands‑on expertise in Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization and Containerization, including cluster design, lifecycle management, and IaC automation (Ansible, Terraform, scripting). Experience with VMware, Hyper‑V, Nutanix, RHEL, Windows, Dell EMC, IBM, UCS, and HCI deployments. Proficiency in scripting and automation; demonstrated ability to create runbooks and operational policies. Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating licensing and cost‑optimization.
