I am currently looking for a Senior Chemist (Early Discovery) for one of my R&D client specialized in RNAi and siRNA therapeutics development.
Job Title: Senior Chemist (Early Discovery)
Salary: Competitive Market Rate
Type: Full Time
Location: Singapore, Central
The Senior Chemist will lead the design, synthesis, and optimization of novel AOC/PCC conjugates for extrahepatic delivery of RNAi therapeutics, applying strong expertise in organic chemistry and conjugate technologies to drive programs from early discovery to PCC nomination. This Singapore-based role requires close collaboration with our Suzhou discovery team to advance RNAi discovery programs.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and synthesis of novel AOC/PCC conjugates with a focus on extrahepatic delivery applications, including linker chemistry, oligo attachment, and bioconjugation strategies.
- Develop early-stage chemical strategies for optimizing extrahepatic targeting and delivery efficiency of RNAi conjugates.
- Collaborate closely with Senior Biologist and Antibody Scientist teams to co-develop and optimize new AOC/POC platforms for extrahepatic targeting.
- Design and execute SAR studies to improve conjugate stability, specificity, and in vivo performance.
- Contribute to the discovery and evaluation of novel chemical modalities for RNAi delivery, including new linker technologies and targeting ligands.
- Establish and maintain a seamless and effective working model with the Suzhou discovery team, including regular scientific alignment, joint experimental design, transparent data sharing, and synchronized project timelines to ensure efficient cross-site collaboration.
- Drive innovation in early-stage conjugate chemistry workflows and contribute to IP generation and scientific publications.
- Manage external CRO collaborations for compound synthesis and scale-up, including study design oversight, quality control, data review, and timeline management.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related discipline with minimum 5 years of industry experience in early-stage conjugate chemistry or bioconjugation for therapeutic delivery.
- Demonstrated industry expertise in the design and synthesis of AOC/POC or similar conjugates, with a focus on extrahepatic delivery applications.
- Strong background in medicinal chemistry principles and early-stage molecule optimization, with hands-on experience in SAR-driven compound design for therapeutics.
- Direct experience with RNAi therapeutics or oligonucleotide chemistry in an industry setting, especially in the context of extrahepatic delivery.
- Working knowledge of in vivo PK/PD principles and experience in translating chemical design to in vivo performance in a drug discovery environment.
