Main Purpose The Analyst works in Trafigura's Research Team, providing daily support to Trafigura's trading desks and strategic planning and business development efforts.The Analyst will review the markets objectively and timely to provide insight to the LPG Traders on tactical and investment opportunities for the Group.The Analyst will be analyzing and evaluating fundamental, macro and market information with a logical and intellectual approach in order to provide regular and adhoc analysis to aid LPG Traders decision making process in short-term trading environments.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - 1-3 years' experience providing fundamentally based analysis on LPG to various stakeholders.- Knowledge of global Petrochemical markets.- Detailed technical understanding of the LPG markets.- Experience in the commodity trading industry especially in Oil Trading.- Strong technical skills such as Tableau, SQL, Python, VBA etc is required.- Experience in designing, improving, automating, handling workflows and visualisation boards is advantageous.- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in statistics, mathematics, engineering, finance or economics.- Proficient in Chinese/Mandarin and English.Key Responsibilities - Working closely with European and Asian LPG desks & traders, to deliver insightful and timely LPG market fundamentals information including information on demand, supplies, flows, inventories, pricing and refining values.- Model short-term regional LPG balances, bottoms-up granular approach and reporting commercially relevant implications to trading desks.- Relaying analysis outputs into price actions and challenging/forming trading views.- Deliver daily and weekly analysis reports on relevant LPG markets timely.- Work closely with data science & engineering teams on automating in-house LPG analytics and driving data driven decisions.Competencies - Communicates effectively and timely with traders and other stakeholders in the business.- Collaborates - Work with traders to turn solid analysis into a support mechanism for idea and strategy development.- Resilient - Manage multiple tasks timely and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.Optimises work processes & manage complexity- formulate and express in-person and in-writing a detailed, cohesive, credible outlook and view.
