Position Summary
Responsible for maintaining and improving plant availability, reliability and efficiency through effective maintenance practice and on- site engineering advice and support. The scope of systems and equipment includes Rotating equipment like Pumps, Compressors, Blowers, Fans, Gearbox, Stationery equipment like Tanks, Pressure vessels and Receivers, RO membrane and Micro Filtration membrane, MOM inspection and certification of Pressure vessels , Receivers, Lifting machines, Lifting gears, Lifting Appliance, Gas and steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, steam boilers and associated ancillaries.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Monitor and review asset life expectancy and maintenance plans regularly so that they can meet the business objectives.
  • Ensure the prompt repair and maintenance of equipment according to planned maintenance schedules and in response to ad-hoc requests to maintain availability of the plant.
  • Identify and report on plant and equipment inefficiencies and possible improvements.
  • Execute the condition monitoring program for the plant and recommend appropriate actions as required.
  • Design short-term engineering solutions that efficiently resolve problems with the plant.
  • Implement generalist-engineering solutions on-site as required.
  • Liaise with and provide technical support to operations and maintenance staffs.
  • Manage and co-ordinate plant overhauls/inspections to ensure objectives are achieved in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner.
  • Provide training or prepare work procedures, SOP, MSRA to ensure safe and appropriate maintenance of the plant and equipment.
  • Coordinate with contractors and OEMs on outsourced work. Monitor their performance, highlight and resolve any irregularities or non-conformance with appropriate actions promptly.
  • Liaise with Specialist Engineers on major engineering projects about the operating procedures, technical information, conformance to specifications and other related activities.
  • Ensure safe working environment for the personnel in the workplace.
  • Promote effective teamwork, encourage and empower others to work collaboratively to deliver on company objectives.
  • Provide effective support and encouragement to team members; build and foster a positive team environment.
  • Manage team staffing and maintenance expenditure and ensure required resources are available for effective and safe service delivery within the approved budget.
  • Provide team members with timely, accurate and constructive feedback on performance. Manage human resource functions such as absence planning, training and performance appraisals
  • Liaise with external agencies (e.g. Power System Operator, Singapore Civil Defense, and National Environment Agency) on operational and regulatory issues.
  • To prepare maintenance budget for every year and able to work within the allocated budget.
  • Ensure to comply with all MOM -Mandatory and Regulatory compliance for Pressure vessels, Lifting machines, Lifting gears, Lifting appliance, Load test , Hydro test of pressure vessels.
  • To be a member of the safety committee and emergency fire drill and to coordinate with HSSE
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably recognized by the Professional Engineer Board, Singapore
  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar capacity, within a power plant or related Industries
  • Self-motivated and independent and has strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Possesses good knowledge and practical experience of power plants , water plants especially of gas and steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators, steam boilers, Water recovery and Reverse Osmosis and Filtration, and the local statutory requirements.
Special Requirements
  • Self-motivated independent and has strong analytical, communication and management skills.
  • Understanding of relevant statutory regulations of Singapore
  • Available on call after office hours.
