Independently handle mechanical design work, including both 2D and 3D design, ensuring full compliance with Class and technical specifications within the assigned project timeline. Key Responsibilities Support the Manager in daily operations by completing assigned mechanical design tasks with high quality and timeliness. Continuously study and implement new regulations, standards, and product requirements. Provide regular updates to the Project or Section Manager on mechanical/HVAC-related man-hours, progress, and scheduling. Lead the Mechanical & HVAC team in executing project deliverables, maintaining quality and adherence to deadlines. Train, mentor, and guide junior engineers and drafters within the Mechanical/HVAC team to foster teamwork and technical growth. Prepare and review HVAC system calculations, 2D SLD/DLD drawings, 3D models, specifications, and vendor drawings to ensure design accuracy and compliance. Attend and present updates during project and section meetings, assisting the Project Section Lead with mechanical/HVAC technical issues and coordinating effectively with shipyards, consultants, and vendors. Serve as Project Section Lead or Mechanical/HVAC Technical Lead for various projects, including new builds, repair, upgrade, and conversion works. Requirements At least 10 years of relevant experience in machinery or HVAC design for marine or offshore newbuilding projects, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior engineer or leadership position. Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and AVEVA software. Strong understanding of Class rules, statutory requirements, and technical standards. Solid technical expertise in machinery, piping, and HVAC system design.
