Cana Consulting is partnering with a global energy and commodities trading powerhouse to secure a KYC/Onboarding Specialist to join the Global Compliance team for a 6-month maternity cover. This is a fast-paced role requiring professionals who can work independently while collaborating effectively with global stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Lead the full lifecycle of counterparty onboarding, including data collection, verification, and risk assessment (CDD/EDD) for corporate entities. Direct communication with Chinese counterparties and stakeholders; translate and review corporate documents in Mandarin to ensure compliance standards are met. Assess complex corporate structures and identify Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs) in accordance with global O&G compliance standards. Act as the regional subject matter expert, providing regular updates to the London-based leadership and local business desks. Ensure all files are audit‑ready and address any gaps in existing counterparty data. Key Requirements: Professional fluency in Mandarin (Written & Spoken) is mandatory to manage the China‑based counterparty portfolio. Minimum 3–5 years of end‑to‑end KYC experience within a Corporate, Commodity Trading, or Oil & Gas environment. (Candidates from Corporate Banking will be considered if they have dealt with complex corporate structures). Proven ability to work independently as the sole regional headcount, reporting to an offshore manager. Due to the volume of applicants, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
