We are establishing a new hedge fund management company in Singapore and are seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the setup and growth of the firm. The CEO will be responsible for obtaining regulatory approvals, building the fund management platform, and driving operational excellence and investment performance. This is a unique opportunity for a proven leader with a strong background in fund management, trading, and capital markets to spearhead an ambitious new venture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the setup of the hedge fund management company, including securing MAS regulatory approvals and licenses.
  • Define and execute the company’s strategic vision, business model, and growth plans.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team across investment, operations, compliance, and business development.
  • Oversee portfolio management strategies, risk management frameworks, and investment processes.
  • Work closely with portfolio managers and traders to ensure robust performance and adherence to investment guidelines.
  • Drive product innovation and fund structuring to meet investor needs.
  • Lead capital-raising efforts by developing investor relations strategies, pitching to institutional and high-net-worth investors, and structuring fundraising rounds to secure committed capital for the fund.
Operations & Governance
  • Establish the full operational infrastructure, including middle and back-office functions, compliance, and risk management.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements under MAS and international standards.
  • Develop strong governance, reporting, and control frameworks for investors and stakeholders.
Business Development & Investor Relations
  • Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Represent the company in the marketplace, raising capital and enhancing the firm’s brand.
  • Drive fundraising initiatives and manage investor communications.
Requirements
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in fund management, trading, or capital markets.
  • Proven leadership experience in running an asset management company or hedge fund.
  • Deep understanding of quantitative trading strategies, hedge fund strategies, operations, and compliance requirements in Singapore (MAS regulations) .
  • Eligible to be appointed as a Registered/Approved Representative with MAS , including:
  • Successful completion of Capital Markets and Financial Advisory Services (CMFAS) exams as required.
  • Strong network of institutional investors, counterparties, and industry stakeholders.
  • Track record of building and leading investment teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to set up and grow a new business.
Preferred Attributes
  • Proven experience in setting up and scaling an asset management or hedge fund platform from scratch (0 → 1).
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA , or other recognized financial qualifications.
  • Strong risk management orientation and business acumen.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
