What the day will look like This role would suit an individual who wants their coding skills to be at the forefront of their daily activities. It will encompass a wide variety of work and the successful applicant can expect to be involved with the following: Working with the team and clients to gather business requirements, crafting and implementing capital modelling solutions for the (re)insurance market. Working in a multi-disciplinary team to design, implement, and test capital modelling solutions for (re)insurers. Work closely with clients to gather business specifications for tailored model constructions and complete development assignments as the technical leader. Supporting and training users of our systems. Supporting the sales process through proof of concept exercises and trials for Tyche and TCM. We are keen to get all team members involved with client interactions from sales through to delivery. Our consulting team provides a full breadth of actuarial services with a focus on Tyche implementations and developing solutions in Tyche. We have a strong team of exceptional developers and our IT team offer fully hosted solutions. Skills and experience that will lead to success Required Qualifications 3+ year of actuarial general insurance experience, in at least one of capital modelling, pricing or reserving. 2+ years of experience coding (Python, SQL desirable) and developing modelling solutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Curiosity about using software to solve modelling challenges, and may have in the past pro-actively looked to improve processes in their own work/team. Ability to work under pressure: proactive, shows resolve and adapts quickly to evolving situations. Self-motivated team player that works collaboratively, able to connect with a variety of collaborators and build positive relationships. Desirable Knowledge of stochastic financial modelling software (Igloo or Tyche desirable). Experience leading and managing development projects and/or teams. Understanding of statistical techniques used in stochastic modelling and/or predictive analytics. Experience using data visualisation tools to support data analytics and decision making.
