About the Role

The restaurant industry is one of the most sensitive and responsive sectors to consumer preferences and expectations. The current competitive landscape to innovate and remain relevant is a constant challenge, not only in operations and development of restaurants but more importantly, in keeping a healthy P&L in check. Financial management is a key strategy-builder; financial insights can impact operational efficiency and boost revenue to improve overall profitability, and compliance to statutory and company policies are critical to ensure that controls are running in place properly.

This requirement brings the need for a Head of Finance to join our Finance team, who will play a dual role between accounting matters and financial planning focus across Asia Franchise Business Unit (AFBU) and ensure compliance with corporate policies, regulatory requirements and corporate governance framework.

What Success Looks Like

You will be a finance partner and advisor focusing primarily on the Asia Franchise Business region, covering the KFC Brand across Asia including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Mongolia, Myanmar, Brunei, Cambodia, and Thailand.

This position is based in Singapore.

Make a Difference... with your role’s responsibilities

Your focus will be on the following:

• Manage a team of 4 based in Singapore & Thailand
• Oversee the financial processes & the financial information prepared by the India SSC (Shared Service Center) and the US SSC.
• Maintain effective working relationship with both SSCs
• Lead the relationship with our banking partners and our external auditors
• Ensure timely recognition of sales, royalties, and all licencing aspects
• Monitor credit risks and periodically update the Business on receivables matters
• Maintain proper process & controls around account payables activities
• Provide support & advise on accounting treatments as and when required by the Business
• Identify & actively work on process improvements, working closely with various stakeholders to continuously driven process efficiency
• Lead the preparation of the Market Growth Plan (MGP)
• Lead the financial modelling for the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
• Oversee & review the preparation of the quarterly financial forecast
• Partner with the regional marketing teams on the management of the Advertising Fund
• Ensure all management regional & group reporting requirements are fulfilled (Same Store Sales Growth, Net New Uunits, Management Letter, ad hoc requests)
• Be a strong business partner with internal and external stakeholders
• Coach & develop the team to facilitate their continuous professional growth

• Bachelor degree in Finance or Accountancy with at least 8-10 years of working experience in regional role
• Experience working in external audit will be an added advantage
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and local & US Tax
• Experience in working in multicultural MNC environment
• Successful track record of process improvements
• Highly analytical with good business acumen and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management skills
• Self-motivated, independent, and versatile team player

• Tax, Treasury and Internal Audit teams
• Franchise leaders and Finance counterparts
• Consultants, banks and vendors
