Delta Electronics INT'L (Singapore) aims to develop nucleic acid extraction in vitro diagnostics (IVD) systems. Per our business development needs, we offer the Research Officer – Manufacturing Specialist position. This is a joint R&D and Production position. As a Research Officer – Manufacturing Specialist at Delta Electronics you will work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and help to create IVD tools used in health care. We are seeking a highly talented and motivated researcher with experience in molecular biology, microbiology, sample preparation, specifically with molecular assays. You will participate in the development of high quality, robust products through the integration of hardware, software, and molecular biology components.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

• Participate in design and development of IVD medical devices(nucleic acid extraction kits and automated systems);
• Hands-on testing and integration of sample preparation procedures on qPCR-based systems;
• Microbiological culture (viral culture and bacterial culture);
• Maintain stock culture and working culture of pathogens as well as clinical samples;
• Execute test protocols to verify and validate products performance;
• Analyse data, support preparation of technical reports and documents related to the product;
• Able to suggest creative solutions to integration issues;
• Validate procedures for instrument testing and quality control and generate final reports;
• Maintains laboratory notebook and follows all general and laboratory SOPs;
• Communicates with supervisor and other colleagues regarding daily lab activities;
• Operate various production equipment according to manufacturing work instructions;
• Record production logs, output, quantity, and quality control records;
• Monitor production processes to ensure efficient and effective operation and that production areas are organised, clean, and safe.

Job Requirement (Qualification & Experience)

• Master's or Bachelor degree in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related field;
• Prior experience in DNA/RNA extraction, real-time PCR and/or isothermal amplification area is desired;
• Prior experience in handling the bacteria culture, sample extraction, purification and nucleic acid detection assays preferred;
• Good understanding of working in a GLP regulated and Biosafety Level 2+ environment
• Prior experience in marketing activities in isothermal based field is an advantage;
• Demonstrate success in hands-on roles, in addition to impeccable technical skills;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Good interpersonal skills for interacting with team members;
• Organizational, planning and detail follow-up skills required;
• Knowledge of safety precautions required for working with pathogens at Biosafety Level 1 and 2 desired.
• This will be primarily a hands-on, bench level position with key responsibilities in assisting the IVD product development. The successful candidate must have a strong general science background and possess skills associated with sample preparation including extraction and purification and nucleic acid detection technologies.
