Overview Summary Join us as an APAC Head of Financial Crime Investment Bank (1LOD). Responsibilities Lead a specialist team to provide holistic advice on interpreting and impacting financial crime policy and standards. Build out financial crime advisory and programme management capability to deliver multidisciplined advice across the Investment Bank. Build relationships across the financial crime industry with peer banks, service providers and regulatory authorities to understand trends, risks and control failures. Accountable for leadership of APAC Team support to all parts of the FinCrime Hub and franchises on interpretation of FinCrime policy, standards and risk appetite decisions. Partner with lines of defence to identify and address capability, process or risk gaps. Coordinate major policy framework changes with first line of defence for impact assessment and alignment. Act as primary contact for FinCrime regulatory engagements and requests, managing and coordinating responses to regulatory requests. Serve as primary first line of defence point of contact for FinCrime related audits and legal cases with specialist knowledge and support. Identification and assessment of compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems. Identification and investigation of potential market abuse including Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation or Anti-Competitive Conduct. Conduct investigation of compliance risk events or breaches, overseeing corrective actions and preventative measures. Implementation of compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and internal policies aligned to international standards. Collaboration with 1LOD, other relevant Compliance teams, legal and risk management functions to facilitate comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management. Identification, investigation and oversight of potential money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crime. Qualifications & Skills Experience building and leading financial crime teams, reacting to policy and strategic change to build fit for purpose advisory capability. Demonstrable stakeholder management skills with proven ability to influence senior management and collaborate across the organisation. Experience working across the three lines of defence. Proven leadership skills building diverse teams across a global operational footprint. Ability to analyse and evaluate multiple sources of information, alternatives and associated consequences. Understanding of financial crime policies and standards and how they apply to personal and non-personal products and services across the bank and its jurisdictions. Purpose of the Role To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to evidence that the organisation is operating in compliance with Barclays legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities. Director Expectations Manage a business function, providing significant input to function wide strategic initiatives and influencing policy and procedures. Lead large team or sub-function, embedding performance culture aligned to values of the business. Provide expert advice to senior functional management and committees to influence decisions outside own function. Manage, coordinate and enable resourcing, budgeting and policy creation for a significant sub-function. Escalate breaches of policies/procedures appropriately. Foster and guide compliance, ensuring regulations are observed with procedures in place to facilitate adherence. Focus on external environment, regulators, advocacy groups to monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays. Maintain broad knowledge of industry theories and practices, external market developments and initiatives. Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in complex/sensitive situations. Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic recommendations within own area. Negotiate and influence stakeholders at senior level both internally and externally. Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/ business divisions. Mandated as spokesperson for the function and business division. #J-18808-Ljbffr
