What The Role Is The Smart Nation group, part of the Prime Minister’s Office and administered by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), plays a multifaceted role in guiding Singapore's digital transformation and leading the development of Smart Nation strategies. In addition to driving the digitalisation of government services, the group oversees the development and application of digital technologies and capabilities across Singapore. It also promotes digital inclusivity, while regulating data and online activities and strengthening digital security. Through its comprehensive approach, the group strives to create a digitally empowered and inclusive society, positioning Singapore as a global leader in the digital era. What You Will Be Working On The National AI Group (NAIG) within the Smart Nation group is responsible for driving the implementation of our refreshed National AI Strategy (NAIS 2.0), in partnership with government, industry, and research stakeholders. We're seeking a dynamic and driver officer to drive the Government's artificial intelligence initiatives and transformation. As Senior Manager / Assistant Director in the National AI Group, you'll be at the forefront of driving AI adoption and innovation across the Singapore Government. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape policies, drive implementation, and build lasting capabilities that will transform public service delivery. What You'll Do Formulate and execute policies and strategies to drive AI adoption across the public sector Drive the adoption of AI solutions across government agencies, identifying high-impact use cases and coordinating their implementation Establish governance frameworks and standards for safe, responsible AI use in the public sector Identify and prioritise high-impact AI use cases across government domains. Coordinate with GovTech and agencies to develop and scale AI solutions. Develop and implement AI capability building programs for public officers Build and maintain strategic partnerships with industry, academia, and government stakeholders Support senior leadership in strategic communications and international engagement on AI initiatives What Makes This Role Unique You'll work at the intersection of technology and public policy, helping to shape how AI transforms government operations and services. This role offers exposure to cutting-edge AI developments while contributing to Singapore's Smart Nation vision. Who You'll Work With You'll collaborate with GovTech, various government agencies, and technology partners while working alongside passionate individuals dedicated to public service transformation. The role reports to the Deputy Director and Director within the Smart Nation Group. What We Are Looking For 3-6 years of experience in public sector, technology policy, or related fields Strong understanding of AI technologies and their practical applications (technical background not required) Experience in policy formulation and implementation (preferred) Demonstrated ability to: Lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives; Manage cross-agency projects and collaborations; Identify AI use cases and understand their policy implications; Develop and present strategic recommendations Personal Traits Strong analytical mindset with ability to derive insights from complex information Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to engage diverse audiences Proactive and resourceful, particularly in ambiguous environments Detail-oriented whilst maintaining strategic perspective Strong team player with proven ability to work in fast-paced settings We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates would be notified.
