Job Description

As the leader of the Data & AI organization in Bengaluru, you will work in a fast-paced environment leading various Data and System Engineering teams developing next-generation solutions for Visa. You will be accountable for strategy, planning, hiring, vendor management, and the overall execution & delivery of multiple products for Visa's AI Governance (AIG).

You will face big challenges and question the status quo, changing how data products are developed at Visa. Building upon an established Data Science research and development practice, you will focus on AI Governance and Compliance.

Successful candidates will be highly adaptable, possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and effectively manage multiple work streams. Experience in collecting or analyzing engineering data to drive business decisions is essential.

You will spearhead product development and engineering efficiency by delivering data services, tools, and systems that enhance customer experience with reliability, security, and outcomes for Visa. Evangelizing Data Science, ML, AI, NLP, Generative AI, and Engineering fundamentals to development teams is also key. Engaging in technical and functional discussions across teams is expected.

Responsibilities
  1. Execute the vision for the Data & AI organization, ensuring delivery of innovative data products and services.
  2. Lead and inspire teams, engaging in cross-organizational collaboration with technology and business stakeholders.
  3. Convert requirements into functional specifications, prioritize, and drive execution using agile methodologies.
  4. Promote developer productivity solutions across teams to drive adoption.
  5. Share infrastructure and capabilities across teams and provide feedback to influence product roadmaps and strategies.
  6. Lead and mentor a team of 15+ engineers, Data Scientists, Analysts, and Directors.
Qualifications
  • 15-18 years of management experience with a bachelor’s degree or 12 years with an advanced degree (preferred).
  • Strong background in Data Engineering, Machine Learning, AI, Data Science.
  • Knowledge of AI Governance, Generative AI, and Trustworthy AI.
  • Experience building real-time and near real-time data pipelines on Big Data platforms like Hadoop/Spark.
  • Excellent data analysis skills and mentoring abilities.
  • Experience leading large-scale, distributed projects in a matrixed environment.
  • Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies and SDLC principles.
  • Strong analytical skills to develop requirements, use cases, and user stories.
  • Proven collaboration and leadership skills, with excellent communication abilities.
  • Experience working across cultures and time zones is a plus.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
