They will assist Clients in improving their performance by designing future state business architectures to enable the Client organisations to remain competitive. More specifically, a business analyst will need to have the capabilities to develop current state and future state business process models and documentation across people, process, information, technology for Clients in the mining, metals, and minerals industries comprising Business Process Hierarchies, Value Chains, Organisational Charts, and BPMN-type swim lane diagrams through workshops with the Client, review of Client process documentation, and on-going interaction with Client process leads and subject matter experts. SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES Developing Business Processes Ability to perform research and carry out on-site observations to identify tools, infrastructure, and personnel essential for streamlining processes. Ability to effectively evaluate business processes, internal workflows, and employee needs. Ability to collect relevant information through workshops to map various business processes. Ability to inspect business processes, identify flaws and bottlenecks, and find ways to improve them. Ability to examine the best practices of businesses and technological developments to automate and streamline business processes efficiently. Ability to interpret business metrics for different stakeholders of the business. Ability to communicate ideas, and influence/assist stakeholders for business process decisions. Ability to prepare presentations and reports to communicate process designs, recommendations, and opportunities. Ability to understand the requirements of businesses and provide evidence-based recommendations for effective improvements. Ability to follow an assigned modelling methodology and generate process models that are consistent in look and feel and conform to the set project standard. Managing Work Ability to identify project risks and issues and either resolve them in a timely manner or escalate them to a supervisor in time to minimise impact of project schedules and deliverables. Ability to develop and issue periodic progress information and/or reports. Ability to communicate with stakeholders to ensure engagement with work activities in terms of business process development, review, and approvals. Ability to work autonomously and drive desired outcomes. Ability to prioritise work based on multiple, and possibly conflicting, criteria from the Client. General Working knowledge of business process modelling applications (e.g. ADONIS, Signavio, iServer, ARIS, and so forth) and methodologies. Signavio experience is strongly preferred Working knowledge of document management applications and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook. Experience with MIRO desirable. Data visualization and data analysis experience not required but preferred. Exceptional stakeholder management and communications skills. Strong problem-solving and management skills. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor degree in engineering, computer science, or business (required) BPMN certification (desirable) TOGAF certification (desirable) Experience Minimum of 4-5 years’ experience developing business process models. The following will be highly regarded: Experience modelling financial, procurement, or operational processes. Experience within mining, metals, mineral industries. Experience modelling with BPMN 2.0. Demonstrated ability to accurately capture information such as work practices/processes, systems and technology, and roles through workshops/interviews with business stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a global project utilising a virtual work environment. Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of business stakeholders (from supervisors to the executive management team).
