Part-Time Teacher of Middle and High School Physical Education Maternity Cover

UWCSEA East Campus has a vacancy for January 2026 at its East Campus for a Part-Time Teacher of Middle and High School Physical Education to cover a maternity leave. The successful candidate must have a tertiary qualification in relevant subjects and significant experience teaching secondary (Middle and High School) physical education. The successful candidate will be an excellent and inspiring practitioner who is passionate about delivering an engaging concept-based PE curriculum. Availability from August 2025 and residence in Singapore with an internationally recognised qualification are required.

To apply for this role, you must have an internationally recognised qualification and reside in Singapore. You must also be readily available from August 2025.

• Construct learning experiences that challenge students and support the diversity of learners, with a strong commitment to concept-based teaching and intercultural understanding.
• Contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Physical Education and broader divisional teams.
• Plan and teach across Middle School (grades 6–8) and High School (grades 9–10) with attention to the progression of conceptual PE education.
• Incorporate intercultural understanding into academic learning and the classroom environment.
• Ensure assessments support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant feedback to students.
• Demonstrate effective classroom management, addressing the academic, social and emotional dimensions of learning; communicate with parents about their children's learning.
• Support personal and social-emotional learning and collaborate with Heads of Grade, Counselling, Learning Support and EAL departments as part of a student support services team.

• Follow the UWCSEA Professional Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Code of Conduct.
• Teach in line with the UWCSEA Teacher Standards.

• A good degree and a recognised teaching qualification or certification.
• Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, experience and pedagogical knowledge in line with the UWCSEA Learning Principles and Profile.
• Experience developing concept-based teaching approaches, contemporary assessment practices and the use of blended learning to enhance learning.
• Ability to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, self-manage, and think and act in critical, creative and innovative ways to support teaching and learning.
• Willingness to participate in the five key elements of a UWCSEA education: Academics; Activities; Outdoor Education; Personal and Social Education; and Service.
• Participation in Professional Learning and, for pastoral duties, leadership of a mentor group (subject to other responsibilities for part-time roles).
• Expectation of contributing to Activities and/or Service, and participation in curricular Outdoor Education experiences, including occasional holiday trips, as appropriate to a part-time role.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, intercultural understanding, and developing student access to diverse and representative literature and media.
• Enthusiasm for working with young adolescents and understanding their developmental needs (11–14 years).
