
Engineering Program Manager

The Engineering Program Manager (EPM) oversees the end-to-end development of computer hardware products, from concept to mass production. The EPM partners closely with engineering, product design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and with high quality standards. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex, cross-functional hardware programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive overall hardware product development schedules, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.
- Coordinate across electrical, mechanical, firmware, and validation engineering teams.
- Track and mitigate risks, dependencies, and blockers in the product lifecycle.
- Manage engineering change orders (ECOs) and ensure alignment with manufacturing requirements.
- Partner with supply chain and vendors to ensure component availability and production readiness.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings, reporting status and escalations to leadership.
- Ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards and certifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 3–8 years of experience in hardware program management or engineering leadership.
- Proven success in managing complex hardware development cycles (concept → mass production).
- Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM), BOM management, and ECO processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in supplier management and hardware validation processes is a plus.
- Manufacturing site experience of 3+ years required.
- Background in U.S.-based leading manufacturing companies is highly preferred.
- Open to being stationed in Kunshan, China (within 10 minutes’ drive of the city center) for about nine months each year, while maintaining the flexibility to work remotely from Singapore during the assignment period.
- Proficient in written and spoken English and Mandarin.
- Initial 6-month training onsite at the manufacturing plant required.
- Expatriate package: 4 sets of flight tickets per year; after every 3 months onsite, option to work remotely from Singapore for 3 weeks.
