About this Role As an Assistant Vice President (AVP) or Vice President (VP) in the Investments team, the successful candidate will actively contribute to sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing investments for the Carbon Ecosystem Enablers (CEE) pillar. The role requires effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to identify and assess investment opportunities, deal execution, and managing portfolio companies for value creation. A comprehensive understanding of the carbon market and broader decarbonization value chain is essential for driving impactful investment strategies. The candidate will be responsible for leading workstreams on technical analysis, conducting in-depth due diligence, and preparing investment recommendations for the Investment Committee. Additionally, they will monitor portfolio company performance and collaborate on strategic initiatives to enhance value creation. Responsibilities Identify and screen investment opportunities across the carbon market. Proactively develop investment themes and opportunities in targeted sectors. Conduct thematic deep dives and landscape studies. Build and maintain strong industry networks. Lead financial modelling and technical analysis workstreams. Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments. Prepare investment memos for the Investment Committee. Lead or support transaction execution processes. Monitor portfolio company performance and strategic initiatives. Represent GenZero at industry events and develop partnerships. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. MBA or relevant graduate degree is a plus. 6 – 10+ years of experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or corporate development. Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills. Demonstrated interest in climate change, sustainability, and impact investing. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
