
Trade Compliance Specialist

- The Trade Compliance Specialist will play a key role in overseeing trade operations and implementing a strategic approach to global growth within international regulatory frameworks. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to U.S. and international trade laws across products and operations. As the primary subject matter expert on trade compliance, you will be required to develop a deep understanding of the company's manufactured products and utilize this knowledge to make accurate tariff classification and valuation decisions. Additionally, you will support alternative sourcing strategies and implement risk-managed trade practices.Your responsibilities will include acting as the internal expert on global trade regulations, leading classification efforts for HTS and ECCN codes, determining the country of origin, and developing valuation strategies to enhance compliant and optimized trade operations. You will be responsible for interpreting tariff schedules to ensure compliance and identifying opportunities for duty savings. Collaboration with Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations teams will be essential to assess trade risks and establish scalable and compliant processes. Effective communication of trade compliance strategies and risk insights to executive leadership will also be a key aspect of the role.The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Customs Compliance, or a related field, with a Master's degree or legal background being a plus. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in international trade compliance, preferably in a manufacturing, tech, or logistics-intensive environment, is required. In-depth knowledge of U.S. import/export regulations (including ITAR, EAR, and CBP regulations) and international customs laws is essential. Hands-on experience with HTS classification, ECCN, country of origin, and FTA eligibility is a must. Proven success in managing trade compliance strategy, documentation, and communications with regulatory bodies is also expected. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to collaborate effectively across functions and geographies are desired qualities.Certifications such as Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), or Certified Export Specialist (CES) are considered advantageous.
