The opportunity:

Overseeing the country operations management and ensuring profit & loss and business growth through the local representation of the Global Product Group. Responsible for driving profitable growth of the structure by implementing and providing input to a global strategy. Acts as the main managerial focal point within the local operating unit, including but not limited to operations and site development.

Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business unit has delivered more than 4,000 projects over the last 15 years. Our portfolio spans a wide range of transmission and substation applications, facilitating reliable and efficient system integration of the future digital electric network with minimal environmental impact. We incorporate integrated systems, solutions, and services in DC and AC fields, including HVDC, Substations, FACTS, Grid and Power Quality solutions such as offshore wind connections, and Semiconductors. We also offer Power Consulting for key segments like renewables, transmission, distribution, and e-transportation solutions.

How you’ll make an impact:

  • Implement the Global Product Group strategy in the country/region, ensuring business development and profit & loss management in the domestic and allocated markets.
  • Contribute to Global Product Group strategy and participate in local business unit strategy development with the local management team.
  • Develop performance targets aligned with global goals, oversee their achievement, and initiate improvement actions as needed.
  • Evaluate market opportunities and decide on appropriate activities in line with the strategy.
  • Ensure profitable growth, oversee production or execution of high-quality products and services, monitor quality metrics, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee project execution to meet schedule, quality, financial, and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Manage relevant local R&D initiatives and build strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Ensure the area is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed, with guidance, motivation, and development of subordinates, in cooperation with HR.
  • Uphold Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility and caring for colleagues and the business.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

  • Engineering degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering.
  • 12-18 years of P&L experience and 15 years in engineering within the substation or power sector.
  • Strong knowledge of power systems and substation engineering.
  • Leadership skills to manage a team of 50 members.
