The position promises a highly collaborative environment where your expertise in career development, stakeholder engagement, and team management will be valued and supported. Responsibilities Lead the strategic direction of integrated undergraduate and postgraduate career services, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and student needs through innovative programme design and delivery. Collaborate extensively with internal and external stakeholders—including academic departments, employers, alumni, and industry partners—to expand opportunities for internships, employment, and professional development for students and graduates. Enjoy a supportive workplace culture that values collaboration, professional development, and the positive impact you will have on students\' lives as they transition from university to successful careers. What you’ll do As Director of Career and Employability Services in this leading Singaporean university setting, you will play a central role in shaping how students prepare for their future careers. Your day-to-day activities will involve working closely with diverse teams across campus to embed employability into every aspect of student life. You will be responsible for designing forward-thinking programmes that address current market demands while also providing hands-on support through events like workshops or one-on-one coaching sessions. By building robust networks with employers and alumni communities locally and internationally, you will open doors for students at all stages of their academic journey. Your ability to manage resources efficiently ensures that every initiative delivers maximum value. Success in this role means fostering an inclusive environment where every student feels empowered to pursue their ambitions confidently, knowing they have access to expert guidance at every step. Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for career and employability services that supports both undergraduate and postgraduate students in achieving their professional goals. Design and deliver engaging programmes focused on career development, job search strategies, internships, networking opportunities, and personalised career counselling. Work collaboratively with academic departments and other university units to integrate career services into the curriculum and enhance student life experiences. Establish and nurture strong relationships with employers, alumni, faculty members, and other stakeholders to broaden the range of available internships and employment opportunities. Plan, organise, and execute impactful events such as career fairs, workshops, seminars, both in-person and online, to facilitate exploration, networking, information sharing, soft skills development, and job search preparation. Manage a dedicated team of career services professionals to ensure high-quality individual guidance for students and graduates on topics such as CV writing, cover letters, interview techniques, and job search strategies. Support the ongoing direction of the office by staying informed about industry trends and best practices in career services to drive continuous improvement in programme delivery. Develop data-driven strategies to enhance the university\'s performance in key metrics such as salary outcomes, employment rates, survey results, and national or international rankings. Oversee budgetary planning for the department to ensure effective allocation of resources towards impactful programmes and initiatives. Lead change management efforts within the team by integrating undergraduate and postgraduate staff functions while setting clear expectations for performance evaluation and professional growth. What you bring To excel as Director of Career and Employability Services you will bring extensive experience from roles involving direct responsibility for supporting others\' professional journeys—whether through higher education administration or corporate talent management. Your background should reflect not only technical expertise but also genuine empathy for those navigating important transitions. You are adept at fostering collaboration among colleagues from various disciplines while maintaining focus on shared objectives. Your approach combines analytical rigour with creativity—enabling you to design impactful interventions based on real-world evidence rather than assumptions alone. Above all else your commitment to nurturing potential ensures that every interaction leaves students feeling more confident about their prospects regardless of starting point. A bachelor\'s degree is required; a master\'s degree or professional certification in career coaching or counselling would be advantageous for this position. At least 10 years\' experience within career services, talent acquisition, human resources or higher education sectors—with a minimum of 5 years spent managing teams or projects successfully. Proven ability to inspire trust through excellent leadership skills combined with strong organisational capabilities that enable effective multi-tasking across complex projects. Outstanding interpersonal skills that allow you to build rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders including students from diverse backgrounds as well as senior academics or industry leaders. Demonstrated success in developing innovative programmes or services that directly support student employability outcomes or similar objectives within an educational context. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities suitable for delivering presentations or facilitating workshops tailored to different audiences. Competence in analysing data sets related to employment trends or programme effectiveness—and using insights gained to inform decision-making processes. Up-to-date knowledge of best practices within global career services provision—including leveraging technology platforms or social media channels effectively. Familiarity with Singapore\'s job market dynamics would be considered an asset when advising students on local opportunities. What sets this company apart This university stands out as one of Singapore\'s most respected institutions—renowned for its commitment to holistic student development alongside academic excellence. Here you will find a vibrant community where innovation is encouraged but never at the expense of inclusivity or wellbeing.
