Job Summary:
We are looking for a Project / Construction Manager to lead port construction and maintenance projects. The role oversees project planning, site operations, manpower and subcontractors, while ensuring work is delivered safely on schedule and within budget. The successful candidate will also manage client relationships and coordinate with relevant authorities and internal teams.
Job Responsibilities
Manage port construction and maintenance projects from planning through completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within scope and within budget.
Develop project scopes, work programmes, budgets and resource plans in coordination with clients and internal teams.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, authorities, suppliers and subcontractors, and support opportunities for ongoing business.
Lead the project team and coordinate workers, divers, equipment, materials, suppliers and subcontractors to meet project requirements.
Oversee site operations, conduct daily coordination meetings and monitor the quality and progress of work.
Identify delays, changes and project risks early, and implement corrective actions. Escalate significant issues to management when required.
Monitor submissions, permits and clearances required by relevant authorities.
Ensure compliance with project safety requirements, environmental guidelines and company procedures. Conduct periodic site safety inspections.
Review project claims and subcontractor claims within the role’s approval authority, and ensure timely submission of claims to clients.
Ensure project records, documentation and timesheets are complete and submitted on time in the ERP system.
Coordinate project manpower requirements with HR and support company audits, including ISO audits.
Prepare progress updates and attend weekly schedule meetings with management.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
At least 8–10 years of relevant construction or project management experience, preferably in port construction, port maintenance or marine civil engineering works .
Experience managing site teams, subcontractors, project schedules, budgets and client relationships.
Good understanding of regulations, environmental requirements and safety standards relevant to marine or port works.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with workers and divers from different backgrounds.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project planning tools. Knowledge of AutoCAD or SketchUp is an advantage.
A Project Manager Safety Course certificate is an advantage.
Willing to work on site, including at remote or offshore locations, and respond to project needs outside standard working hours when required.
