We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager (Robotics and Automation) to join our team at ST Engineering Defence Aviation Services Pte. Ltd., located at Aero - 507 Airport Road. This role sits within the Smart MRO division of our organisation and plays a crucial part in advancing our Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) services through innovative robotic and automation technologies. As a Manager in Robotics and Automation, you will lead and oversee the development, implementation, and optimisation of automated systems that enhance operational efficiency, quality, and safety within our aviation maintenance processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, maintenance, and IT to design and deploy cutting-edge robotic solutions tailored to meet the complex demands of aviation servicing. Key Responsibilities Lead the strategy and execution of robotics and automation projects aligned with the Smart MRO vision, ensuring seamless integration into current workflows. Manage a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture that encourages innovation, continuous improvement, and professional development. Conduct detailed feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to evaluate automation opportunities and recommend optimal solutions. Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and timelines, ensuring targets are met with high-quality deliverables. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies throughout all phases of automation projects. Collaborate with vendors and technology partners to source and evaluate new robotic equipment and software tools. Analyse operational data to identify bottlenecks and apply automation techniques to improve throughput, accuracy, and reliability. Champion initiatives aimed at digital transformation within the MRO service line to elevate the company’s competitive edge. Candidate Profile Proven experience in managing robotics and automation projects within aerospace, aviation maintenance, or related high-precision industries. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams and drive collaborative problem solving. In-depth knowledge of robotic systems, automation software, and their practical applications in complex operational environments. Competent in project management methodologies and familiar with compliance requirements in aviation services. Analytical thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels. A relevant engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification, complemented by professional certifications in automation or project management is preferred.
