About Department and Purpose of the Position The Coordinator (Surgical Clinical Reviewer) works with surgical champions for the National Surgical Quality Improvement Programme (NSQIP), a surgical benchmarking tool at the Department of Surgery. The role identifies opportunities for clinical quality improvement and benchmarks procedures. Key Responsibilities Work with clinician champion to identify surgical patients for inclusion in the Program. Collect preoperative, operative, and postoperative data components through the hospital medical record systems. Conduct follow‑ups with patients to monitor responses to the treatment and care plans. Attend weekly Morbidity & Mortality conferences to ensure reliable data collection of postoperative occurrences. Identify streamlining and process improvement opportunities in the data collection process. Demonstrate appropriate utilization of resources necessary to obtain valid, reliable data for entry into the Programme. Utilize software applications for data collection and analysis. Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of data into the programme’s database and meet the caseload accrual protocol. Assist to drive process improvements and streamline workflows for efficient operations and patient care journey. Perform any other duties as assigned by reporting officer. Key Requirements Nursing or medical background preferred. Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Meticulous attention to detail for accurate data abstraction. Proficiency in specialized data collection tools, data entry, and basic statistical principles. Basic understanding of surgical patient care, common procedures, and human anatomy/physiology preferred. Collaboration, problem‑solving, teamwork, project management, and deadline management valued.
