We are currently looking to hire a Database Administrator as a long-term contract opportunity. This description retains the original job context while organizing content for clarity.

Responsibilities
  • Database Administration: manage day-to-day operational aspects of database administration to meet business needs and service levels.
  • Lead and provide technical guidance to junior database administrators; act as a front-facing point of contact with customers.
  • Technical lead and mentor to junior DBAs.
  • Lead and manage database changes through the change request process and provide status reports to relevant parties.
  • Provide 1st and 2nd level operational database support.
  • Respond promptly to incidents; investigate and provide temporary or permanent resolutions; provide timely status updates.
  • Monitor and measure database performance and availability; implement corrective actions to improve performance and availability.
  • Ensure service levels are met; document and maintain database configurations; provide regular reporting to relevant parties.
  • Propose and implement action plans when required to meet service levels.
  • Lead database operations according to standard operating procedures.
  • Lead in the implementation of service continuity measures, including backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans.
  • Involve and lead in database implementation projects; keep abreast of database technologies.
  • Demonstrate good teamwork and leadership.
Qualifications & Expectations
  • Experience in senior database administration with ability to mentor others and interact with customers.
  • Strong understanding of change management, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Ability to lead and deliver against service level agreements and operational KPIs.
  • Continuous learning mindset regarding database technologies.
