We are currently seeking a self-driven corporate commercial lawyer with data privacy expertise to join the Peerpoint panel and work with our multinational technology corporate clients. Working as part of a legal team, the roles we see with these clients tend to be broad in-house legal roles covering the areas listed below.

Responsibilities

• Working on legal issues related to data privacy (data use, transfers, protection), cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence law
• Providing regulatory and compliance advice

Key Requirements

• A right to work and reside in Singapore
• Qualification to practice in at least one of England & Wales, the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore or Australia
• At least four years' post-qualification experience at a top tier international or local law firm in your area of expertise
• In-house experience gained within financial services industry is helpful to have
• Strong technical knowledge and experience gained in the ASEAN region
• Southeast Asian languages (Vietnamese, Bahasa or Thai) would be useful to have
• Self-starter with a commitment to building a career as a consultant and a drive to achieve at a high level whilst working as a consultant
• Adept at leading or working within complex multi-functional, multi-national project environments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface at all levels, building strong relationships internally and externally
• Client service-focused, with exemplary client service ethic and commitment
• Strong commercial/business acumen
• Resilient, adaptable, autonomous and highly credible
• Advanced organisational skills and diplomacy

• In-house with one of our clients - one assignment could be stepping into a team to support a project, while another a senior manager role tackling regulatory change. Assignments can range from two to six months in duration and are usually worked four days' per week.
• In the A&O Shearman practice on an ad-hoc basis, supporting teams when needed or joining them for fixed periods to work on a deal.

We only take you on when we see a demand for your particular expertise, making sure there is a good chance we can provide you with work on an on-going basis. We cannot guarantee work but we are every bit as invested in moving your career forward as you are.
