Architect (Conservation Planning) – role at Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore (URA) What the Role Is As an architect in the Conservation Planning Department, you will protect and promote Singapore’s conservation areas and buildings, working on plans involving built heritage. Process development applications and proposals for conserved buildings. Formulate policies and guidelines for these buildings and the larger urban conservation areas. Undertake initiatives to protect and enhance the character of conservation areas and buildings, including physical and socio‑cultural environment. What You Will Be Working On Planning and development of areas with heritage interest. Evaluating heritage buildings for conservation or mitigation. Engaging with stakeholders and interest groups on proposals and development plans. Developing digital planning tools and analysing data using GIS and other digital technologies. What We Are Looking For Degree in Architecture with strong interest in architectural heritage and local identity. Knowledge or interest in using GIS, digital technologies, and 3D systems in planning and conservation work. Dynamic, public‑oriented, able to multitask, motivated to reach targets independently and in a team. 2‑3 years’ experience in a related field (preferred). Experience with Singapore heritage or community‑related projects and a keen eye for architectural and building details (advantage). Effective bilingual in English and one of Singapore’s official languages.
