Step into your next role as a key member of the Barclays Group Technology Service Management (GTSM) team. As a Rates - Trade Floor App Support – Analyst level , your role will be primarily to ensure the smooth operation of the trading desk and be responsible for trading applications and market access support for Fixed Income Rates Trading. You will provide level two support, liaise with traders and technology teams on Rates, Pricing, streaming applications, and Algorithmic Electronic Trading matters. Embedded within the front office, you will deliver real-time technical support for trading applications, acting as the second line of defense for system issues, ensuring minimal disruption and high availability of mission-critical platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on support for trading applications used across various desks
  • Monitor system performance and resolve issues proactively
  • Collaborate with traders, developers, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot incidents
  • Manage application deployments, configuration changes, and upgrades
  • Maintain documentation and knowledge bases for supported systems
  • Participate in incident management and post-mortem analysis for continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with operational risk and regulatory requirements
Requirements

To succeed, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • At least 6 years of experience in application support within financial services or trading environments
  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle and front-office workflows
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell) and SQL
  • Experience with market data feeds, FIX protocol, messaging systems (Kafka, MQ, Solace)
  • Knowledge of Linux/Windows systems and basic networking
  • Experience with support tools such as monitoring (Geneos ITRS, Nagios), scheduling (Autosys, IWS), and service management (ServiceNow)
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with vendor platforms like Bloomberg/Reuters, Tradeweb
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Ansible)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure

This role is based in Singapore. You may be assessed on risk and controls, change management, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital technology, and technical skills.

Purpose and Accountabilities

The role involves providing frontline support, developing reports and dashboards, managing user requests, maintaining incident records, and training users. As an analyst, you are expected to perform activities timely and to high standards, demonstrating technical expertise, leadership, or advisory skills. You will be responsible for risk management, policy adherence, and contributing to organizational objectives.
