Job Purpose: You are required to provide underwriting support for all product lines in New Business Underwriting.The Job: \tUnderwrite new applications for life, accident & health, disability income and long term care proposals\tCountersign and provide guidance to junior underwriters\tProvide underwriting advice & support for financial planners through e-booking, emails, phone calls and NBU counter.\tProvide critical liaison and build strong business relationship between NBU and distribution channels\tEnsure all department KPIs are achieved\tConduct underwriting training for distribution channels\tProject management, e.g. reviewing underwriting guidelines, review & streamline work processes to support business operations\tTakes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.\tMaintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.\tHighlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.Requirements: \tDegree with at least 5 years' experience in underwriting Life, Accident and Health risks\tNon-degree holders who have relevant experience or certification in underwriting may be considered\tGood team player with strong analytical skills & ability to work under pressure\tGood interpersonal and communication skills\tHigh level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork; and\tTakes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.About Great Eastern: Established in 1908, Great Eastern places customers at the heart of everything we do.
