Role

F5 Solutions Engineer (SE) is a sales and technical role focused on customers and partners and is part of the sales organization. The SE’s primary responsibility is to support the sales team with technical skills and provide knowledge around F5 solutions to our customers. The SE is a trusted adviser who proactively learns and understands technical and business challenges and proposes effective solutions to mitigate concerns and offer gainful outcomes. The SE presents both technical features and business benefits in the Technical Value Proposition. To be effective, the SE needs excellent technical skills and knowledge of both F5 products and the ecosystem we operate in. We provide training and certification to keep abreast of these critical skills.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement technical strategies that support the overall sales objectives of the organization.
• Act as a thought leader in the industry, representing the company at conferences, webinars, and industry events.
• Lead the design of highly complex, integrated solutions that address the unique challenges of strategic clients.
• Mentor other solutions engineers, providing guidance on complex technical and strategic issues.
• Engage with strategic clients at the executive level to understand their long-term goals and align solutions accordingly.

What You’ll Bring

• Considered an internal subject matter expert within the function.
• Consistently acts as a resource for other functions such as sales engineering, sales management, and inside sales.
• Requires conceptual thinking to understand advanced issues and implications.
• Ability to select and improve processes to sell across F5’s product portfolio.
• Expert level understanding of Web Protocols and application architectures (HTTP/TLS/SSL), programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Golang, etc.), and Kubernetes concepts and architectures.
• Deep understanding of PKI concepts, Certificate Authority, OCSP, Certificate Providers.
• Advanced knowledge of data center, virtualization, cloud computing environments, solution performance, and sizing.
• Expert in solution designs for large-scale environments and vertical market solutions.
