The Regional Materials Manager for Asia is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels across multiple locations to support branch operations. Lead a team of buyers/planners, analyze demand across a diverse range of customers, and safeguard a smooth and efficient supply chain in the Asia region. We currently operate in:
- Belgaum, India
- Shanghai, China
This is a key leadership role based in Singapore, reporting directly to the General Manager – Asia with a dotted line to the Integrated Supply Chain Manager for Europe and Asia.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop the materials group across the region, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement.
- Manage the materials teams to ensure the appropriate resource and experience is dedicated to each account.
- Ensure DRP forecasts and/or customer schedules are analysed and actioned in a timely manner.
- Ensure planning team continues to maintain data integrity within the ERP system.
- Maintain inventory levels in line with annual plans/monthly forecasts and highlight variances as appropriate.
- Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise supply chain efficiency.
- Support on-time delivery (OTD) reporting, analysis and corrective action for major contract customers.
- Analyse monthly inventory reports and work with sales to identify excess and End of Life product.
- Monitor and analyse supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Participate in contract and cost negotiations as required.
- Maintain a cost base in line with operational margin objectives.
- Communication – Ability to determine when to use different levels of communication and ensure priorities are understood.
- Organization – Able to plan carefully and maintain order to improve workplace efficiency.
- Analytical Skills – Ability to collect, interpret, and evaluate information to make informed decisions.
- Attention to details – Ability to complete tasks accurately and thoroughly.
- Active listening – Ability to listen and extract the most valuable content.
- Adaptability – Ability to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
- Professional accreditation, business/Supply Chain degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 5+ years’ experience in senior materials planning, procurement, or demand planning roles.
- Strong analytical, strategic and communication skills.
- Expertise in ERP systems; SAP is preferred.
- Creative and strategic thinker.
- Data-oriented with strong math and reasoning skills.
- Adaptable and able to work with small teams as well as within a larger multinational corporate environment.
- Advanced Excel skills.
