Role Overview We are seeking a SAP MDM Engineer (Technical) to support our Master Data Management (MDM) and Governance (MDG) initiatives across the SAP ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in managing master data for Materials, Customers, and Vendors, along with technical expertise in data migration, transformation, and mass data maintenance. This role involves working closely with functional and technical teams to design, implement, and optimize MDM/MDG solutions that ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance during ECC to S/4HANA transition. Key Responsibilities Manage and support Material, Customer, and Vendor Master Data within SAP environments. Design and implement mass update and migration utilities using LSMW for large‑scale data changes. Support and execute data migration activities — particularly Vendor Master Data migration from ECC to S/4HANA — including identifying key objects, mapping requirements, data validation, and testing. Articulate and document the approach for vendor data migration, outlining what needs to be reviewed (e.g., data structures, business partner conversion, data dependencies) and why. Collaborate with business, functional, and technical teams to ensure data integrity and consistency across systems. Assist in defining and enforcing data governance policies and quality standards. Support issue resolution, root‑cause analysis, and process improvements for master data‑related challenges. Participate in design discussions and contribute to automation or tool enhancements for data quality and migration efficiency. Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for data migration strategies, mappings, and technical procedures. Required Skills & Experience 3–5 years of experience in SAP Master Data Management / Data Migration roles. Proven hands‑on experience with Material, Customer, and Vendor Master Data. Strong technical understanding and practical experience using LSMW for mass uploads, updates, and migrations. Experience with Vendor Master migration from ECC to S/4HANA, with the ability to explain key review points (e.g., BP model conversion, data harmonization, data field mapping). Knowledge of SAP MDM / MDG concepts and data governance frameworks. Understanding of data validation, cleansing, and transformation techniques. Basic knowledge of SAP modules like MM, SD, FI, or BP is preferred. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Nice‑to‑Have Skills Exposure to SAP Data Services, Information Steward, or other ETL/data quality tools. Familiarity with S/4HANA Business Partner concepts and data model changes. Experience with Excel, SQL, or reporting tools for data analysis and validation. Interest in automation, scripting, or AI‑driven data tools.
