Overview

APAC Deputy General Counsel (Global PE Group). Our client, a Global Asset Manager, is recruiting a Deputy General Counsel in APAC to advise the firm’s investment professionals on M&A and disposals and structuring of deals. This is a newly created role, part of a team, reporting to the APAC General Counsel. You will be the subject matter expert in sponsor-side M&A transactions for South Asia.

Responsibilities
  • Advise investment professionals on M&A, disposals and deal structuring in APAC, with a focus on sponsor-side transactions in South Asia.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for M&A transactions and provide guidance on risk management and deal execution.
  • Collaborate with colleagues globally and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Law with at least 10-15 years' PQE; training at an international law firm in M&A/PE practice.
  • Strong M&A execution experience from initial negotiation to closing; South Asia market knowledge.
  • Experience representing PE sponsors; aptitude for high-level risk management and problem-solving.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills; ability to work collaboratively with global teams.
  • Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
