The Radiographer is responsible for providing prompt diagnostic imaging services to patients, ensuring patient safety and proper care of equipment. Assist Centre In-charge/Senior or Principal Radiographer to guide and supervise junior and student radiographers when required.
Job Responsibilities:- Perform general radiographic examinations and/or at least one area of specialty including mammography and/or ultrasound and/or Bone Mineral Densitometry.
- Responsible for the safety and welfare of the patient.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment; adhere to safe work practices especially in radiation safety and infection control.
- Ensure proper usage and care for all equipment at the specific diagnostic centre.
- Perform other administrative duties or ad-hoc quality departmental projects/activities as assigned by the reporting officer/Lead Radiographer.
- Apply the ALARA principle for all procedures.
- Responsible for general housekeeping of the allocated diagnostic centre.
- Render prompt and courteous service delivery to external and internal customers.
- Ensure efficient running and operations of their area of responsibility.
- Assist the Radiographer-In-Charge/Senior or Principal Radiographer to ensure quality control procedures are performed diligently.
- Ensure AHPC certification is achieved after one/two years depending on qualification(s).
Required Skills and Experience:
- Recognized degree in Diagnostic Radiography.
- Professional Licence: R1 license with Centre for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Sciences, National Environment Agency.
- Timely update and renewal of RI license.
- Registration with Allied Health Professions Council.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in continuous medical education and quality assurance programs as directed by Radiographer In-charge/Senior or Principal Radiographer.
- Complete all assigned tasks in an organized and timely manner.
- Service oriented and customer focused. Have a compassionate, caring and friendly attitude.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Effective communications and coaching skills.
- Good team player.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Mammography and ultrasound experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate in vernacular languages.
- Knowledge of basic programming and advanced applications of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of NGEMR, Epic usage, and RISPACS would be an additional advantage.
(Please note that the working hours is on a 5.5 days' work week)
