Overview

Regional Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Asia and Oceania. This role leads the group’s financial operations across Asia and Oceania, reporting to the Group CFO and Regional CEO. The incumbent will translate global strategy into regional execution, ensure robust financial governance, and drive capital discipline across business lines.

PATMI advises the Group CFO and Regional CEO on role design, succession profiling, and candidate selection to align with transformation and succession goals. Our core services include CFO succession and market mapping, finance operating model design, onboarding and transition support, and investor-backed talent strategy.

Role purpose The Regional CFO will be the senior finance leader for Asia and Oceania, partnering with the Regional CEO, Group CFO, and business heads to translate strategy into execution, oversee multi-country P&L, and lead finance transformation and capital management for the region.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Finance & Business Partnership
    • Act as a strategic advisor to the Regional CEO and business unit leaders, providing financial insight and governance for strategic initiatives.
    • Lead regional FP&A, budgeting, and long-range forecasting to support growth strategies.
    • Embed performance KPIs linking finance with operational and strategic goals.
    • Identify risks and opportunities and propose proactive financial strategies.
    • Align finance strategy with group transformation and investor expectations.
  2. Financial Reporting, Governance & Compliance
    • Oversee accurate, timely financial reporting across Asia and Oceania in line with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
    • Maintain internal controls, risk mitigation, policy enforcement, and control testing.
    • Lead internal and external audits with emphasis on transparency and improvement.
    • Ensure ESG and sustainability reporting compliance where applicable.
  3. Capital Management, Treasury & Liquidity
    • Forecast cash flow, optimize working capital, and manage intercompany funding.
    • Maintain banking relationships and regional funding strategies with FX risk considerations.
    • Collaborate with Group Treasury on debt, capital deployment, and liquidity planning.
    • Drive capital efficiency initiatives including asset management and debt optimization.
  4. Investment Governance & M&A
    • Evaluate strategic investments, JVs, acquisitions, and divestitures; support due diligence and integration planning.
    • Participate in investment governance and track post-investment performance for stakeholder visibility.
  5. Finance Transformation & Digital Enablement
    • Lead finance modernization including automation, analytics, ERP enhancements, and shared services models.
    • Develop real-time decision support through agile reporting and dashboards.
    • Lead upskilling and change management for the finance workforce.
  6. Risk Management & Regulatory Stewardship
    • Localization of risk management within regional operations and monitoring of key risk types.
    • Engage with regulators and authorities to ensure compliance and alignment.
    • Support governance on entity structuring, transfer pricing, and cross-border tax strategies.
    • Build and lead a high-performance regional finance organization with clear accountability and development paths.
Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Chartered qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent required.
  • MBA or Master’s in Finance/Strategy preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 15 years of finance leadership experience, including multi-country exposure in Asia-Pacific.
  • Proven track record as a regional CFO or Group Controller in a listed or multinational environment.
  • Direct experience in Real Estate Investment, Manufacturing, or Financial Services & Technologies.
  • Familiarity with corporate governance, capital markets, and investor reporting standards.
  • Experience with ERP implementations, FP&A transformation, and M&A.
  • Strong commercial acumen, strategic mindset, executive communication, and cross-cultural leadership.
  • Resilience, integrity, and an agent of change in complex environments.
