Position: Analyst, Legal and Compliance, Asia
We are seeking a commercially astute, proactive and purpose-driven Legal and Compliance Analyst to support SUSI Partners Asia and our fund and portfolio operations. The ideal candidate combines an understanding of infrastructure development and investment, combined with a strong governance, business integrity and risk management ‘partnering’ mindset and skills, with ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity operating in emerging market environments.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the design, embedding and operationalisation of governance and asset management best practices across a dynamic and high-impact investment portfolio, with a strong focus on Energy Transition infrastructure development for the Asia region.
You will report to the Director, Legal & Compliance, Asia, and work closely with the SUSI Partners Asia team, including investment, environmental & social, finance, operations and asset management functions.
The role will suit candidates with a ‘can do’ attitude and broad skill set not afraid to ‘roll up sleeves’ to achieve outcomes in a dynamic operating environment and across multiple facets in a small, tight-knit team.

Your Role:

  • assist overall governance and compliance aspects for SUSI Partners and its fund portfolio/investments/asset operations
  • provide support and leadership to create, design, provide, coordinate, organize and manage legal, governance, compliance and risk management aspects
  • ensure appropriate establishment and continuous improvement and management of policies, procedures, standards, internal systems and procedures, safeguards, grievance, whistleblowing, complaints mechanisms, risk identification, business integrity (including monitoring, review, updates, trainings)
  • manage and develop strong legal, governance and compliance operations and workflows, including tracking, reporting, filing, administration, corporate secretarial, monitoring and review of governance and compliance matters for SUSIPartners Asia and fund investee/portfolio companies
  • manage preparation of minutes and resolutions and internal approvals (working with external company secretaries)
  • act as a Data Privacy Champion and Officer for various entities
  • liaise with counterparties, corporate secretaries, auditors, advisors, project/investment partners, etc
  • transformation and integration of standards and outcomes into portfolio company operations and asset management procedures
  • assist and input in reporting with respect to fund manager, operations, investor and regulator requirements (for e.g. MAS or other regulatory requirements)
  • assisting to review simple legal agreements; basic research, follow-up actions, etc;
  • assist to manage, avoid and resolve inquiries, litigation risks, complaints, disputes and other claims/issues, if any
  • keep abreast of and monitor ‘hotspots’ for inefficiencies and risks; review and interpret legal and regulatory requirements and provision of advice and opinions to support SUSI Partners Asia and portfolio entities where required
Your Profile:
  • Qualifications/Degree/ Professional Experience in Law, Finance, Accounting, Audit, Business Administration, Risk, Compliance & Governance, Public Policy, or related field
  • Diverse, broad-based legal-risk-governance-commercial background or experience
  • Exposure to infrastructure development, investment (particularly from the sponsor or project company side), or construction sectors is a plus
  • Experience and interest in Environmental, Social and Governance operations for investments and finance is a plus
  • Strong organisation and ability to connect/influence across different backgrounds, stakeholders and counterparties of differing levels
  • Ability to design and deliver management and monitoring systems, training, action plans
  • Asian languages are a plus
  • Holding the rights/permits to work in Singapore; experience, exposure and roots in Southeast Asia and other emerging markets is desirable
