Job Summary We advise WRB to become the leading Cross-Border Affluent Bank and Wealth Manager by strengthening the Affluent continuum, unlocking network value via International Banking, accelerating Private Banking growth, and future-proofing the business with a strong focus on risk, talent, supported by a scalable digital platform and operational capabilities. WRB will invest to expand wealth solutions and upgrade advisory capabilities, tailor international propositions, enhance frontline enablers to support growth in relationship managers, and strengthen support functions in line with growth aspirations. This role sits within the Group Wealth Solutions COO team and is responsible for implementing regulatory changes related to wealth solutions, primarily focusing on transaction reporting regulations (MiFID, MAS, HKMA, EMIR) and global extra-territorial regulations. It involves strategic planning, managing regulatory changes, mitigating risks, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations. The role may also manage or facilitate strategic initiatives impacting regulatory change processes across WRB markets.

Responsibilities Strategy
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to manage regulatory changes impacting Wealth Solutions.
  • Align regulatory change initiatives with the overall business strategy to ensure seamless integration.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory developments to proactively address potential impacts on the business.
Business
  • Lead regulatory change projects, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
  • Manage transaction reporting compliance across multiple regimes (MiFID, EMIR, HKMA, MAS) for WRB business. Identify reporting exceptions and collaborate across teams for remediation.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to interpret regulatory requirements and their implications on business operations.
  • Facilitate strategic changes across the WRB to manage regulatory initiatives and their oversight.
  • Ensure appropriate and insightful data and analytics that can drive business decisions.
  • Continuously improve productivity and efficiency in driving regulatory initiatives and the teams’ ways of working.
Processes
  • Design and optimize business processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement robust governance frameworks to manage regulatory changes and operational risks.
  • Ensure all processes are documented, standardized, and aligned with best practices.
People & Talent
  • Foster a culture of compliance, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder engagement with 2LoD, T&O, Financial Markets, Regional and Country Regulatory implementation teams to ensure alignment across stakeholder groups.
  • Embody the role of a constructive challenger, leveraging data and facts in facilitating the right discussion.
Risk Management
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks associated with regulatory changes and operational processes.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of regulatory changes on business operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk management policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and reviews to identify potential risks and implement corrective actions.
Governance
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Bank operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Deliver effective governance as the first line of defence and collaborate with second and third lines of defence to ensure a well-controlled ecosystem and governance standards.

  • Group, Regional and Country WS COO; WS Products COO; WS & GBS Operations
  • Functional Partners including CFCR, Risk, HR, Finance, Legal, Audit, etc.
  • Business stakeholders including Private Bank Business Management, CSM, Business Planning, FM Regulatory Operations, etc.

  • Client Journey leads, Onboarding leads, Servicing and Transacting leads, BRM leads
  • Collaborate with the regional and country COO and product teams to ensure effective communication, training, and support in embedding change enablement agenda.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 10+ years of experience in Wealth Management, Regulatory Change, Risk Management, or Operations.
  • Solid knowledge of Wealth Management and capital markets products and operational process flows.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk management principles, and their impact on wealth management operations.
  • Experience in transaction reporting regulations including MiFID and G20 derivatives reporting preferred.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to drive change and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in process optimization, operational excellence, and risk management.
  • Self-motivated team player, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate and resolve complex operational issues.
