Laboratory Technologist (Comparative Medicine) at National University of Singapore.
Duties- performing daily care of animals, including related duties required for the proper care, feeding and housing of laboratory animals
- performing daily animal checking and identifying clinical and behavioural abnormality, to report to veterinary staff
- performing daily checking of the facility or equipment, to identify and report issue to supervisor
- performing routine cage changing and sanitation
- performing general laboratory animal housekeeping and cleaning duties
- stocking supplies
- records keeping
- operating equipment including cage and rack washers and autoclaves
- receiving animal shipment
- Diploma in Biotechnology or equivalent discipline preferred or minimum of GCE 'O', 'N' levels or Nitec
- Good disposition and not averse in handling of laboratory animals
- Ability to multi-task
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Able to work independently and in team settings
- Basic knowledge of MS outlook and ability to become familiar with additional computing software
- Lift up to 15 to 25kg
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to push equipment or cart weighing of 50 to 100kg
- Ability to perform rotating weekend duties and after office hours duties independently
- Process a valid class 3 driving license will be an added advantage
