Overview

Senior Silicon Design Engineer (STA) – Singapore. We are looking for a gifted and motivated engineer to join the team in Singapore to support and enable Static Timing Analysis (STA) in our designs. STA complements functional simulation and is used to validate timing performance. It breaks down the design into timing paths, calculates propagation delays, and checks for timing violations at interfaces. With STA as part of the design flow, functionality and timing can be signed off with confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop timing models (NLDM, CCS and LVF) for advanced technology nodes, mixed-signal circuits and complex standard cells.
  • Collaborate with design, layout and STA teams to tune stop cell hierarchy levels and enable timing characterization.
  • Develop and update quality check utilities to ensure the quality of timing models.
  • Engage with various teams to understand new STA requirements.
  • Maintain timing model databases.
  • Evaluate best-in-class EDA tools and flows in the industry.
Preferred Experience
  • Solid understanding of MOSFET electrical characteristics and experience with transistor-level circuit simulators (e.g., HSPICE, SPECTRE).
  • Understanding of layout at the transistor level and ability to work with the mask design team; familiarity with reviewing DRC and LVS results is a plus.
  • Familiarity with modeling formats such as Liberty (CCS, NLDM, LVF), Verilog, LEF, Milkyway, NDM, CLIB and SPICE; willingness to learn more.
  • Experience in Linux, load sharing concepts (e.g., LSF) and version control (e.g., ICM) is a plus.
  • Understanding of standard cell architectures, including state-retaining elements like latches and flops.
  • New graduates are welcome; training will be provided.
  • Strong collaboration with stakeholders and proactive communication.
  • Self-motivated to continuously develop skills and contribute to the design center’s success.
  • Positive attitude and respect for all team members; willingness to iteratively improve designs.
Academic Credentials
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
