Job Summary:

The Quality Lead collaborates with the Laboratory Operations Manager, Quality Engineers, and Technicians to maintain high standards within the laboratory. The role also involves functional reporting to the Regional Quality Manager to ensure consistency across multiple laboratories.

About the role:

1. Quality Management System

Maintain, monitor and apply procedures for accredited tasks, maintain BMS documents, define and implement corrective and preventive actions

2. Equipment & Calibrations

Set criteria for equipment purchase and calibration, approve calibration methods, train and supervise personnel in calibrations, evaluate calibration results

3. Internal Audits

Monitor and schedule internal audit, perform internal audits, train personnel to conduct internal audits, approve test methods and documentation

4. QAQC of Laboratory Test Results

Quality control of test results: data entry of quality control testing, organising inter- and intra-laboratory comparisons, analyse results and write reports

5. Accreditation & QHSSE

Ensure laboratory maintains ISO 17025 accreditation and adhere to and champion stringent QHSSE and technical requirements in line with Fugro procedures and external accreditations

Requirements

Education: Bachelor

  • Bachelor or equivalent level in Engineering or mathematical discipline, or equivalent in experience

Working experience: 3-8 years

  • Previous experience in ISO17025 laboratory quality management systems (Essential).
  • Previous experience of working in a geotechnical or construction materials laboratory and performing tests (Desirable)

Management experience: 0-3 years

  • Previous experience supervising small teams of engineers and technicians

Others:

  • Excellent numeracy and literacy
  • Working knowledge of maths; algebra, statistics, functions, geometry
  • Eye for detail, diligent in following procedures
  • Manage large data input, skilled in reviewing and correcting data
  • Proficient in use of MS Office applications
