We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, secure, and optimize enterprise databases while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness. The role requires hands-on expertise in database provisioning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and automation, with a strong focus on balancing usability with security. The ideal candidate will be passionate about implementing best practices, ensuring business continuity, and working with both on-premise and cloud-based database solutions.

Overview Key Responsibilities
  • Provision and manage databases with required licenses.
  • Implement robust data security measures and recovery controls.
  • Monitor database health, performance, user access, and security.
  • Configure and manage database parameters for optimization.
  • Establish configuration management and automation for disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Support systems to ensure high usability while meeting stringent security requirements.
  • Perform regular database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and scalability improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance database operations.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
  • Strong passion for automation, standardization, and implementing best practices.
  • Relevant IT experience in database administration, including (but not limited to):
  • MySQL
  • MongoDB
Hands-on experience
  • System DBA tasks (database management and security)
  • SQL programming
  • Database performance tuning and scalability
  • High availability technologies and disaster recovery planning
  • Experience with cloud database services such as AWS RDS or similar technologies is an added advantage.
