Job Description The Global and Regional Acquirers team is acquiring domain experts with the primary objective of deployment and execution of acquirer infrastructure solutions. The team is responsible for managing the commercial relationships with some of Visa’s most sizeable and complex acquirer partners globally and in the region. They work closely with global, regional, and local teams to support the Client business development strategies and manage client implementation & integration of Visa acquirer solutions. The role is based in the Singapore Market Support Centre and will report to the Senior Director, Global and Regional Acquirers, Asia Pacific. The Director for Strategy and Acceptance Sales Excellence for Global Acquirers in AP presents a unique opportunity to engage with emerging acquirer partners in the region while also having a broader view of a portfolio of Visa’s biggest acquirers in the region. This role combines deep market knowledge, strategic planning, and commercial execution to expand Visa’s relevance and utility across merchant ecosystems. The Director will work closely with acquirers, payment facilitators, marketplace platforms, and technology partners to identify opportunities, shape solutions, and accelerate Visa transaction growth. Success in the role requires working well with a multitude of cross‑functional external and internal stakeholders to cultivate partner strategy and execute on existing/new partnership agreements. Responsibilities Develop and execute a multi‑year acceptance growth strategy for acquirers in the region, considering market dynamics, regulatory environments, emerging payment methods, and competitive landscapes. Serve as the subject matter expert on acceptance trends, ecosystem evolution, and implications for Visa’s acquiring business. Identify and prioritize strategic opportunities with acquiring partners to expand merchant acceptance and drive transaction volume. Partner with acquiring sales teams to deliver tailored acceptance propositions that meet client needs across various merchant segments (enterprise, SMB, micro merchants). Act as a trusted advisor to acquirers, providing insights into future acceptance innovations and Visa’s product roadmap. Collaborate with Global and Regional Product teams to design and deliver acceptance solutions that are easy to sell and easy to implement. Translate market intelligence, client feedback, and regulatory insights into regionally relevant product requirements. Lead the development of bundled solutions that integrate acceptance products with acquiring services to maximize client value. Shape and execute go‑to‑market strategies with acquiring sales leaders, ensuring solutions are positioned effectively across client segments. Support sales teams in structuring client proposals, pricing models, and implementation plans for acceptance initiatives. Drive continuous innovation and revenue growth through targeted campaigns, partnerships, and solution enhancements. Establish and drive scorecard reporting end‑to‑end with regular updates and tracking of scorecard metrics across functions and markets from data capturing to metric analysis as deliverables. Define and drive strategic, operational and organizational improvement initiatives to communicate the team’s thinking as a whole and inculcate data‑driven mindset for all stakeholders. Lead annual planning process for the Global and Regional Acquirers team. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in payments, acquiring, merchant services, or related fields, with proven expertise in acceptance strategy and market development. Strong understanding of the acquiring ecosystem, including acquirers, payment facilitators, marketplaces, and merchant technology providers. Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic plans that drive measurable business growth. Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior decision‑makers across clients and internal teams. Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex market insights into clear commercial opportunities. Experience working in a global matrix organization and balancing regional priorities with global strategies. Knowledge of Visa products and services, spanning core products and emerging digital solutions. Proven ability to build credibility, influence decision and negotiate at the highest levels within international and local organizations. Demonstrated proficiency in managing & summarizing the financial indicators necessary to measure business performance, business planning, and accurately forecast major cost, revenue, and risk sources.
