Overview

A leading global financial institution with a well-established private banking platform is seeking a Managing Director – Market Head to grow its Asia-focused NRI segment , focusing on first- and second-generation clients across the region. This opportunity is suited for a senior private banking leader with deep client relationships, a strong track record in team development, and proven revenue generation within the UHNW/HNW NRI space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grow the NRI client segment in Asia by expanding wallet share, strengthening client relationships, and enhancing the team’s overall market penetration.
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage a team of high-performing Relationship Managers; expected to bring a minimum of 4+ producing bankers with established client portfolios.
  • Collaborate with existing coverage teams to complement and deepen the bank’s NRI proposition, ensuring a unified and client-centric approach.
  • Drive commercial performance across the segment while upholding best-in-class standards in compliance, risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner closely with product, investment, and credit teams to deliver holistic and tailored wealth management solutions.
  • Take a leadership role in client engagement where appropriate, leveraging personal networks and experience to support business growth.
  • Contribute to the broader private banking strategy in Asia, providing market insights and team leadership.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of private banking experience, with a strong focus on the NRI client base (first- and second-generation) in Asia.
  • 8+ years of experience within international banks known for a comprehensive wealth management and advisory platform.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, including demonstrated success in bringing and managing at least 4 revenue-generating Relationship Managers .
  • Strong understanding of regional regulatory environments and cross-border wealth management practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, commercial, and leadership skills with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, performance-driven environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and strategic thinking with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
