As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Equities Technology Team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.

Job responsibilitiesDevelops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersRegularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teamsContinuously improve software development processes and tools to ensure efficient and effective software developmentCollaborate with the software development team and stakeholders to identify and prioritize software needsManage data infrastructure, including data warehouse and ETL processes, ensuring optimal performance, reliability and securityDefine and implement best practices for data engineering, including coding standards, data modelingTroubleshoot and debug issues and provide timely resolutionsStay current with industry trends and technologies in data engineering and recommend innovations to improve our data capabilitiesProvide technical mentorship to team members helping them grow their skills and advance their careersAdds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skillsBachelor's degree in computer science or related fieldsMinimum 4 years of software engineering experienceStrong proficiency in Java, SQL, Python, ReactJS and/or other programming languages used in Data EngineeringHands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWSAbility to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversightExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and Operational stakeholdersDemonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
