We are looking for you, Safety Specialist, to join our Safety Team in the Singapore Refinery. You will focus on supporting the Safety Engineer in the area of operational safety, workplace safety and occupational health and safety to ensure full compliance with local regulations and Neste's OEMS requirements. You will work closely with Engineers, Supervisors and front-line personnel in Singapore and the Corporate Safety Team in Finland. You will provide your expertise to our Refinery on matters of operational safety.
Responsibilities- Operation Safety: workplace risk management, safety leadership, emergency response and crisis management
- Workplace Safety: managing workplace safety & health environment committee, contractor safety, physical security, turnaround and shutdown events, and duties of Fire Safety Manager
- Occupational Health & Safety: PPE, respirator protection, ergonomic safety, hearing conservation, heat stress, medical surveillance
- Report, take work execution and direction from Safety Engineer
- Security Management: development, implementation and maintenance of security procedures, countermeasures, awareness; perform Security Risk Assessments; responsible for site physical security, security controls, travel security management, threat analysis and mitigation; manage onsite security manpower (contract 3rd party) and contracts/performance; interface with external vendors and Maintenance/Facility Functions
- Turnaround Events: act as bridge between Safety and Turnaround, support Turnaround safety planning and execution, lead the TA safety team, ensure improvements and lessons learned are implemented
- Workplace safety and fire safety performance: ensure compliance with Neste Corporate Principles and applicable regulations; reduce risks; support incident/crisis management; manage safety for contractors and employees; conduct contractor safety inductions and training; perform Fire Safety Manager duties and ensure licenses/permits are issued
- Support Safety Team in related safety duties and tasks as assigned
- 5 to 7 years of experience driving operational safety in a chemical or refining environment
- Experience in development and operationalisation of workplace safety programs
- Ability to develop safety standards and procedures
- Familiar with local WSH regulations and regulators (e.g., MHD, MOM, NEA, SCDF)
- Minimum WSQ Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health; Bachelor degree in chemical/process/process safety engineering is an added advantage
