Overview The role of the Investigation and Discipline Officer within SCDF is pivotal in spearheading the Provost Unit’s transformative phase, aimed at optimising internal processes and maintaining high standards in SCDF investigation case management. This position carries the responsibility of clearing the backlog of cases, including FE and ad-hoc investigation reports. The Officer will oversee the administration of disciplinary matters and ensure the fair and impartial conduct of summary trials in accordance with the SCDF Disciplinary Instruction Manual. The Officer will also review and establish well-structured procedures for handling service offences involving both SCDF Regular and National Service personnel, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and compliance within SCDF. What You Will Be Working On Gather facts of investigation cases via interviews (from both accused and witnesses) and review available supporting documents Make recommendations to Senior Management on appropriate disciplinary actions for regular officers with disciplinary cases Liaise with MHA HRD to formalise disciplinary actions for SCDF regular officers for more severe offences Interview deserters upon reporting to the SCDF Provost Unit after arrest by Police or surrender Seek Public Prosecutor’s consent for deserters to be charged in court for AWOL or deserter offences Liaise with units for deserters to report for their court charges Vet Online Summary Trial System (OSTS) charge reports submitted by all units during pre- and post-trial Ensure disciplinary records are updated to the HRPS discipline module accordingly Generate comprehensive and accurate monthly reports and statistics on disciplinary cases in SCDF Assist in screening SCDF regulars for disciplinary cases and provide investigation case details when required What We Are Looking For Knowledge and skills Proficient in Civil Defence Act, CD Regulations, DIM & IM2L Good understanding of SCDF Department’s Directive Experience in HR-related environments Attributes High integrity and ethics Strong listening skills Effective problem analysis and decision making — identifying problems, root causes, alternatives, and timely decisions Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak or present effectively and write clearly Good interpersonal skills to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers and inter-agency colleagues Good listening and counselling skills Ability to work effectively under pressure and respond competently to challenges Seniority level Entry level Employment type Contract Job function Other Industries Government Administration Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Singapore Civil Defence Force by 2x Get notified about new Investigations Officer jobs in Singapore, Singapore . #J-18808-Ljbffr
